Program Abstract

Managing the work of fire investigators often falls to individuals who do not have specific experience in investigating fire cases or specific knowledge of the fire origin and cause investigation process. As a result, individuals who manage the work conducted on a fire loss claim or file may not be well-prepared to evaluate credentials for hiring fire investigators, set policies and procedures for investigations, manage the work and work product of fire investigators, and prepare experts for testimony. This self-paced program provides a basic framework for structuring the management of fire cases and fire investigators.
