Users Rave About CFITrainer!

Crofton, MD, October 15, 2011 — The International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) is pleased to announce that the popular CFITrainer.Net®, a free online fire investigation learning system with more than 35,000 registered users worldwide, received exceptional reviews in a recent user survey.

Of the 1,747 respondents, 94% were extremely or very satisfied with their overall CFITrainer.Net® experience, a very high satisfaction rate. Written comments described the program as: “the best out there,” “vital,” “the best I’ve ever seen, outstanding,” and “highly effective.” The overwhelming majority of respondents agreed that CFITrainer.Net® is very effective in delivering information to fire investigators and that its reputation among professionals is excellent. The survey also found that 71% thought the CFITrainer.Net® program was a very important training resource for fire investigators. An extraordinary 94% of respondents said they recommended the program to a co-worker. The word of mouth on CFITrainer.Net has been overwhelmingly positive and pervasive: most respondents found out about CFITrainer.Net® either from the IAAI web site or from a co-worker. When asked why they used CFITrainer.Net®, respondents said it was a convenient, self-paced, free, and high-quality resource.

CFITrainer.Net® is an online fire investigation training resource designed in conjunction with Stonehouse Media to provide up to date, high quality training directly to fire investigators throughout the world. Each of the more than 35 training modules available is approximately 30 minutes in length, with an optional online self-test to earn a certificate of completion for the module. CFITrainer.Net® modules are used to fulfill requirements for many professional designations, including IAAI-FIT® and IAAI-CFI® certification/recertification. Organizations including the National Fire Academy, individual U.S. States, and post-secondary programs in the fire sciences assign CFITrainer.Net® modules as pre-requisites, credential requirements, or coursework. However, enrollment in a formal program is not required to use CFITrainer.Net®. The resource is intended for and available to all fire investigators, regardless of their level of training or certification.

The CFITrainer.Net® user survey was conducted by James P. Murphy, Ph.D. of J.P. MURPHY & COMPANY. The survey was sent to approximately 30,000 registered users, from which 1,747 valid responses were collected in a time span of about two weeks.
