Insurers rely on fire investigators when evaluating claims for coverage, arson, liability, and subrogation. Most investigations proceed in accordance with NFPA 921 and 1033. Mistakes, however, are sometimes made. This Panel Discussion led by White and Williams LLP subrogation attorney Chris Konzelmann will explore where fire investigations go wrong and provide tips to avoid errors that place the results of the investigation in jeopardy. Panelists include Travelers’ Fire Investigator Adam Holloway, Chubb Vice President and Property SIU Manager Dan Jaeger, AEGI Staff Scientist Peter Layson, and Attorney Cynthia Bernstiel.
Adam Holloway is a Director with Travelers Forensic Fire Investigation with oversight of the vendor management program, training and the fire investigation internship program. For the past 14 years Adam has been conducting fire investigations for Travelers Insurance specializing in Marine related fires. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis on Fire, Arson and Explosion investigations from Eastern Kentucky University.
